Paediatric First Aid and The Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator
This qualification is intended for learners already working or preparing to work in the industry and to provide candidates, who are responsible for the welfare of infants and children, with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to support basic first aid including managing illness and injury and the use of an automated external defibrillator.
How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?
This qualification is usually achieved by taking a 1-day (8 hours) course.
How is the qualification assessed?
The qualification is assessed using the HABC assessment pack and is split into two component parts
Part one: This component is assessed through practical demonstration of first aid skills.
Part two: This knowledge based assessment requires learners to answer a series of short answer questions either via written responses or oral questioning.
